LIKE TO KNOW IT

I have enjoyed wearing cream formulas ever since I first began wearing makeup, and over the past few months, I have fallen in love with a handful of high-quality cream products that I want to share with you.

I could not talk about my favorite cream makeup products without talking about the L’Oréal True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer — a.k.a one of the most used items in my entire collection! I love how it can be used on bare skin, underneath foundation, mixed in with foundation, and on top of foundation for a subtle luminosity. I use the shade ‘Medium’ for evening out my skin tone and the shade ‘Light’ for adding a rose gold glow.

A cult classic, the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base is the absolute best cream bronzer formula. It blends effortlessly and creates the illusion of just returning from a beach vacation. The shade range is nonexistent, which is not OK, so I hope Chanel makes this long-overdue change.

Last summer, I picked up the Ulta Beauty Face Sculpting Color Stick, and I have really enjoyed using it. I like that it is small enough to fit in the hollows of my cheeks and dark enough to create more of a contrast than the Chanel one. The formula is more stiff, so it takes a little more effort to blend, but the overall effect is beautiful and it looks great in photos.

The Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in ‘Baked’ is the best affordable alternative I have found for the Tan de Chanel, as it has a flattering warm undertone to emulate a natural, sunkissed glow on light to medium skin tones, and it looks seamless once blended. If you are new to the world of cream bronzers, I suggest starting with this one.

Almost all of my cream blushes ended up being discontinued, so I was thrilled to receive the Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in ‘Werk’ as a birthday gift from Sephora. This formula is pigmented, blendable, and very long-lasting, which is so impressive. This is a dusty rose shade that compliments so many different skin tones and makeup looks. The best part is that this is a great alternative to the product I am about to mention.

Few products in my collection make me happier than my precious Tom Ford Soleil Glow Stick in ‘Megeve.’ This dual-ended stick features a warm-toned rosy nude blush and a pinky-champagne highlighter in an emollient formula and radiant finish. If you aren’t converted to cream products yet, this is guaranteed to do the job! If you’re interested in why I think this is worth the price, you can read my full review here.

I have relied on the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid for years to achieve the perfect lit-from-within, photo-ready glow. ‘Rose Gold’ is a lovely blush topper for tan skin when applied to the apples of the cheeks, while ‘Champagne Pop’ is a universally-flattering peachy champagne ideal for the highpoints of the face.

A mini palette of cream eyeshadows is such a unique yet practical idea, and this Revlon Illuminance Cream Eye Shadow Palette in ‘Not Just Nudes’ is both stunning and affordable. It includes four sheer shimmery and non-shimmery shades, all of which have a lovely sheen on the lids. They are easy to blend, long-lasting, and almost impossible to mess up.

If you love sparkles, then the Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eye Shadow is worth the splurge. These multi-dimensional shadows come in a variety of shades, all of which are equally to-die-for; I have ‘Reflect,’ which is the most perfect rose gold. I adore how this formula doesn’t require a glitter glue or even a brush, and it is a refined take on traditional glitter.

Let me know if you have questions about any of these products, and I’d love if you’d share your favorites in the comment section, as I am always looking for new cream products to add to my collection.

  1. Love this post! I picked up the Lumi Glotion at your recommendation but got deep for a little bronzing action! I mix it in with my sunscreen because it comes off super white on the skin and this helps tone it down a lot. I just went through my makeup drawer and rediscovered the Becca Backlight Priming Filter and can’t believe I haven’t used it in so long, if you haven’t tried it you would love!!

    • Thanks so much, Sofia! I’m so happy that you trust my recommendations — that means the world. And that is such a great idea — it’s probably a great alternative to the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi. I think I tried the Becca one a really long time ago, but I’ll definitely have to check it out. I think they discontinued their liquid Shimmering Skin Perfectors, which makes me so sad. Thanks again for reading. xoxo
