This 32-page magazine is a guide to my all-time favorite beauty products.

If you love makeup as much as I do, then I am sure you can easily understand how summer of my long-time favorite products have become neglected due to all of the new ones in my collection. Today, I am honoring some of my previous purchases by dusting them off and falling in love all over again. Here are nine old makeup products I hope to use more frequently in the future.

Although it is still one of the most loved items in my collection, I used to use the Too Faced Natural Eyes Eyeshadow Palette so often. It is one of my top recommendations for anyone starting off with makeup because it has every neutral you need, and flatters so many different skin tones and eye colors. Just because this palette is a simple staple, does not mean I should overlook it, so I plan to fall in love with it all over again!

Three years ago, after receiving the NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in ‘Cruella’ as a free birthday gift from Sephora, I fell in love with the ideal shade of red. I even discovered a dupe for it here and that post has turned out to be one of my most popular. I don’t wear reds very often, but when I do I definitely need to reach for this because it is honestly the best.

MAC has always been my mom’s signature makeup brand, so some of the first products I tried where from them, including the MAC Powder Blush in ‘Blushbaby. This is a lovely muted cool-toned rose shade that works well with neutral and pinky looks. Although, I prefer wearing peaches or corals on my cheeks, this is a wearable yet unique alternative that this post has helped me rediscover.

Finding the perfect brush for applying liner can be a challenge, but luckily the L’oreal Linear Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner is just waiting to help us master our wings. The actual liner wasn’t as black or as matte as I prefer, but I still love using this applicator because it is precise and flexible at the same time.

When I first started my blog, MAC Eyeshadows were considered the best of the best, so as soon as I saved up enough money, I bought quite a few neutrals, including ‘Shroom’, a satin champagne, ‘Twinks’, a pearlescent plum, and, of course,  ‘All That Glitters’, a golden pinky-beige. With so many other shadows in my collection, I don’t use these nearly as much as I used to, so I am going to be making an effort to use them even more because they are really pretty and I do love them!

As you can tell from my flatlay, I used to be obsessed with the Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liners. My favorite shade was ‘Plum Pearl’ because I loved using a shimmery purple liner to make my green eyes pop; I also really liked ‘Nocturnal’, a deep purple, and ‘Cosmic Brown’ a matte chocolate. These are all actually very creamy and long-lasting, so I do plan on reaching for them whenever I want a more colorful pencil!

I received a sample of the Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer in a value kit a few years ago and although I don’t reach for it nearly enough, I really appreciate its formula. It is extremely pigmented with just one swipe, yet it blends out so quickly, and the warm tan shade adds so much warmth and definition to my complexion.

The Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in ‘Cinnamon Spice’ used to be my most favorite eyeshadow single because I thought the soft, shimmery bronze was the perfect wash of color for all over lids. Now that I have tried more makeup, I realize this isn’t the most pigmented formula, but the shade is really great for Summer if you have more tan skin like myself.

I thought it would be best to end this post by mentioning the very first makeup product I purchased from Sephora… the Korres Lip Butter Glaze in ‘Quince’. I was in sixth grade and just starting to get into makeup, so the endless isles were very overwhelming; I loved wearing lip gloss, so I finally settled on this rich raspberry color. This particular product is no longer available, but I will be finishing the tube because it is bold while still being comfortable.

Which overshadowed makeup products would you like to reincorporate into your routine?

XOXO,
Makena
