Hello, everyone! I have always thought it would be fun to do the ‘How Much Does My Face Cost?’ Makeup Tag, but to add my own twist, I am going to be creating a glamorous everyday look using only high-end poducts on one side of my face and only drugstore products on the other side of my face. That way, I can show you that it is possible to acheive a beutiful look regardless of your budget with affordable alternatives and dupes for expensive makeup, while also comparing the total prices of each side of my face so everyone can see what a ridiculous amount of money I spend on my face everyday!
How Much Does My High End Face Cost?
- Foundation: The Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation ($40) provides a light-weight, light-medium but very buildable coverage for demi-matte skin.
- Concealer: The Travel-Size NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($12) has a satin-matte finish and offers full coverage for dark circles and blemishes, which I love, but it is not the best for my dry under-eye area.
- Powder: The only high-end powder I have tried so far is the MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Pressed Finishing Powder ($27), but honestly, it is not worth the money.
- Bronzer: My favorite and most-used bronzer is obviously the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer ($30) because of the flawless formula and medium-neutral color!
- Blush: My favorite high-end blush is the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in “I Will Always Love You” ($26); it has the perfect long-lasting formula, beautiful peachy color, and glowy sheen.
- Highlighter: For Christmas, I got the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in “Rose Gold” ($41) and I really love how the liquid formula is so radiant without any shimmer.
- Eyebrows: To give my brows added definition and color, I love the Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Powder Duo in “Soft Brown” ($23) since it lasts all day and looks soft.
- Eyeshadow: For my eyes, I often use high-end products, and the original Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette ($54) is the one I reach for the most because it has lots of shimmery neutral shadows that are great quality.
- Mascara: My Travel Size Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($12) adds length and curl to my eyelashes without ever clumping together, perfect for a daytime look.
- Lipstick: One of my favorite high-end lip products is the MAC Amplified Lipstick in “Cosmo” (17), a gorgeous creamy pink with hints of warm brown and mauve.
- Finishing Spray: MAC Prep + Prime Fix Plus ($23) is very expensive, but it does an amazing job at making my makeup dewy and more skin-like.
Total High-End Price: $305
How Much Does My Drugstore Face Cost?
- Foundation: The L’Oreal True Match Foundation ($10) also has light-medium, buildable coverage with a demi-matte finish, great for a variety of skintones and occasions.
- Concealer: The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($7) is one of my favorite products in me entire collection because it has a natural finish for my dry skin and covers redness and discoloration beautifully!
- Powder: I always set my T-Zone and concealer with a light powder and the Rimmel Stay Matte Transparent Pressed Powder ($5) does the job.
- Bronzer: There are few bronzers that are as matte, blendable, and affordable as the N.Y.C. Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in “Sunny” ($4), and even though this one is not as incredible as the Too Faced one, it is a great drugstore gem.
- Blush: A lovely peachy coral with chapagne shimmer running through, the Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush in “Coral” ($10) is the closest thing I could find to my favorite Too Faced one.
- Highlighter: To be honest, I only own one drugstore highlighter and it is a powder, but if I were to buy a liquid highlighter, I think the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in “Rose” ($13) would be really pretty and high quality.
- Eyebrows: I like using powders on my brows because I think it looks more natural and the one product that I use the most for everday is the neutral matte brown shade from the Maybelline”Chai Latte” Expert Wear Eyehadow Quad ($7).
- Eyeshadow: The Wet n Wild “Walking On Eggshells” Eyeshadow Trio ($3) has the perfect shimmery nueutrals for everyday looks and are dupes for “Virgin,” “Sin,” and “Smog” in the Naked Palette!
- Mascara: The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara ($9) is a great dupe for Roller Lash because it makes eyelashes long and curled for a pretty and soft effect.
- Lipstick: In case you were not aware, my favorite color to wear on my lips is a medium warm nude with pinky mauve undertones, and the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in “08” ($6) is one of my new favorites, very similar to “Cosmo.”
- Finishing Spray: I am in love with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb, and Rosewater ($7) to give a more natural and hydrated finish to my makeup.
Total Drugstore Price: $81
Wow, my face is pretty expensive! However, I do always use a combination of high-end and drugstore products, and it was interesting to see how different the two totals were. Please let me know if you like any of these dupes and alternatives, and how much do you think your face costs?
XOXO,
Makena

Woah such a dramatic difference. I always use a mix of high end and drugstore as well. Some things I have found at the drugstore are better than anything I’ve tried that’s high end.
Yes, there was a huge difference in price! I love drugstore makeup so much, too, but lately it has been getting so expensive. Thank you for reading! xoxo
I really like this post!! I usually use a mix of drugstore and high end but I am getting to the point where the amount of high end makeup in my collection is equal to or higher than the drugstore products. I almost always go for drugstore mascara because I can’t justify a high end price when I throw it out in 3 months!
Thank you so much, I appreciate it! That is exactly how I am too! Before I owned a larger collection, I would always be frustrated with beauty bloggers and YouTubers who only used high-end products, so now I feel obligated to buy drugstore products for my blog to make it balanced. I do prefer high-end eye shadows, but I still love so many drugstore products. Also, I feel like lately drugstore makeup is so expensive and everything is over $10, so it almost seems easier just to go to Sephora, lol. Have a great day! xoxo
I totally agree! Drugstore brands are getting so much more expensive lately that getting high-end isn’t even that much more expensive anymore! The only thing I’m truly ride-or-die from the drugstore is mascara, I love a good Maybelline or Covergirl mascara!
Yes, drugstore mascara is the best! My favorites are L’Oreal Telescopic and Carbon Black! xoxo
This post was so interesting to see the difference in price. I definitely have a mixture of drug store and high end products. I can’t seem to bring myself to buy a high end foundation for example because I know it won’t last me nearly as long as a high end eyeshadow palette for example. Maybe it’s just me being silly haha.
If you have the time I’d appreciate it if you checked out my blog post https://sophiesamantha.wordpress.com/2017/01/01/my-nye-makeup-look/
Love Always,

Thanks for reading! Yes, the difference was huge! Personally, I absolutely love drugtore foundations and love high-end eyeshadows, too, so it really depends on the person! I would love to check our your blog! xoxo

True Match is amazing! It is ideal for oily, combination, and normal skin, but it is also stunning on dry skin when mixed with moisturizer! For more of my reviews, feel free to click the Reviews category on my blog. Thank you so much for reading; I appreciate it and will check out your blog! xoxo
Thank you, I’ll try the moisturiser tip! Have you tried mixing it with a strobe cream or something like that, I love that look! Xx
Yes, liquid highlighters with foundation are so pretty! xoxo
