This time of year is one of very favorites, not only because I get to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the holidays, but because brands are now starting to release their holiday collections! The other day at Ulta, I saw the Tarte “At First Blush” Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set and immediately purchased it without even thinking twice. It costs $35 and includes 4 mini limited edition shades of the ever-so popular Amazonian Clay Blushes.

From Left to Right: “Entertainment”, “Embellish”, “Epic”, and “Ecstatic”

The first shade is called “Ecstatic” and is described as a “matte nude melon” shade. This is my personal favorite shade because it’s the perfect everyday peachy nude shade that would literally look amazing on everyone. It works with practically every makeup look and I’m probably going to cry when it runs out because it’s just so beautiful!

“Ecstatic”

The second blush is named “Epic” and is a bright “matte poppy pink”. To be honest, this is actually my least favorite color out of the collection, not because of the quality, but I’m just not a huge fan of this kind of bright hot pink color on my cheeks. It would be perfect for deeper skin tones, though and if you love bright pinks, then this will be right up your alley!

“Epic”

The third blush, “Embellish” is a deep “shimmer plum rose” shade. This is one of the most unique blush shades I’ve ever seen in my life and it would look great on darker skin tones. At first, I wasn’t so sure I would like it because it has actual pieces of gold glitter in it, which I don’t like for blushes. However, the glitter doesn’t really show up when you apply the blush to your cheeks.

“Embellish”

Finally, we have “Entertain”, which Ulta describes as a “shimmer rosy pink”. I don’t really notice any shimmer in it at all, only a beautiful glowy sheen. Like “Ecstatic”, it’s also a wonderful natural everyday blush that brings a lot of light to the face to make you look more awake.

“Entertain”

All of these four blushes have beautiful pigmentation, blend easily, and last a very long time, just like all of the regular Amazonian Clay Blushes. They are not powdery or chunky, but instead are creamy, buttery, and amazing quality!

Tarte always has beautiful and detailed packaging and this holiday set is no exception. The travel-sized blushes come in a see-though box with a gold and champagne designed trim. The shades “Ecstatic” and “Entertain” both have a stunning metallic gold chevron design on the outside of the compact, while the other two just have the simple elegant packaging of all the other regular Amazonian Clay Blushes.

Each blush weighs 0.05 ounces compared to the normal-sized blushes which contain 0.2 ounces. If you do the math, each of these cost $15, but the full-sized ones cost $28 each, which is pretty expensive for a blush. Ulta claims that this is a $60 value and I personally think that $35 is a pretty fair price for 4 blushes, since i would probably never hit pan on the regular ones.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful , high-quality blush set that is perfect for someone who want to expand their blush collection or try several of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes. It would make a wonderful gift to divide among friends, give to one special bestie, or even to treat yourself!

    • Thank you so much for the lovely comment! This set really does have a great assortment of very versatile shades and if it’s in your budget, then I really reccommend it! I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do! xoxo

  2. […] Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in “Embellish”: This mini blush was from a holiday collection last Christmas, but a similar shade would be “Dazzled” or maybe even “Blushing Bride” from Tarte’s permanent line. It is a beautiful plum shade and the sparkles in the pan do not transfer onto your cheeks, so it is a beautiful matte flush! I love cheek products in the Autumn because they really contribute to that warm-toned, cozy look, and this one is perfect for getting me into that mood. […]
