Boo! Did I scare you? Today, I’m going to be sharing some of my personal favorite ideas for for Halloween Costumes! If you’re like me and aren’t really into those scary costumes, then keep on reading for some of my more glamorous and girly, last-minute, budget-friendly costumes!

  • Stylish Characters from your Favorite TV Show: This year, my friend and I dressed up as Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl! This is the first time I’ve dressed up with another person and it was so much more fun! I have brown hair, so I was Blair, and she got to be Serena since she’s blonde. She wore long flowy pants with a cute tank top and jewelry, while I wore a black and white fit and flare dress, black tights, and a red coat. I think we both nailed their style and had a lot of fun with our outfits, while keeping makeup  simple and polished. Another great idea that I almost did with some of my friends is dressing up as the girls from Pretty Little Liars. Four girls (Aria, Hannah, Emily, and Spencer) would wear little black dresses that represent each of the girls’ style, while one girl would wear a red coat or black hoodie and be Red Coat or A. Just pick your favorite TV Show (or movie), grab some friends, and create a unique costume from the items that you already have in your closet inspired by their fashion and makeup!gossipgirlpll
  • Cute Animals: Last year, I didn’t have a lot of time to plan a costume, so I decided to be a black cat. I wore a pair of dark-wash skinny jeans, a really unique black tank top, a sheer black tie-front top, and black shoes. I chose to wear black open-toe heels, but you could also wear black boots, black ballet flats, or whatever other shoes you prefer. This costume is really versatile and a black skater skirt, black leggings, or a black dress would also look super cute. I added some little black and pink ears and a black tail to finish off the outfit. For my makeup, I did a dramatic black cat-eye liner and made sure to bring it down to the inner corner of the eye to make it look more feline. I contoured my cheekbones with a matte bronzer and applied a pink blush to the applied of my cheeks. Then, I added a black nose and whiskers, which you can do with eyeliner or face paint. For my lips, I used a nice pinky nude gloss. Even though this costume might not be very creative, it leave a lot of room for you to make it unique and add your own personal touches. If you don’t want to be a cat, you could also be a deer (which is very popular right now and has super cute makeup), a bunny, a leopard, or any other adorable animal that you like

  • Beauty Icon: Two years ago, I dressed up as Audrey Hepburn from the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey is one of my biggest beauty icons and it was so much fun to imitate her style and makeup! I got a really nice plain black dress and accessorized with long black gloves, black heels, and a pearl necklace. I did my hair in a sock bun with a little tiara in the front. For my eye makeup, I did doe-eyed black liquid liner without a wing, applied a soft neutral matte shade to the crease, applied a few coats of mascara, and then filled in my eyebrows to make them more structured. I finished the look off with very natural and blended blush, bronzer, and highlighter, and then applied some natural pink lipstick. This Audrey Hepburn/Holly Golightly costume was very simple and I already owned most of the items. I got tons of compliments on this costume and it is definitely my personal favorite! I was going to be Marilyn Monroe, this year, but I didn’t have enough time to get everything together, so I plan on doing that next year. All you need is a flairy white dress, white strappy heels, red lipstick, black eyeliner, and an optional blonde wig! Whoever your personal style or beauty icon is, draw inspiration from them and use that to create your best costume yet!
