Although summer is drawing to a close, I am hoping my beach days are not, so today I am sharing my seven beach bag beauty essentials. I realize that hot weather, swimsuits, and glamorous makeup looks do not necessarily work well together but these are the products I recommend if you are looking for a practical yet pretty look.

Protecting my skin from the sun is always my top priority — especially when I am enjoying a beach day. My favorite face sunscreen at the moment is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion SPF 50 because it is moisturizing, undetectable, and affordable. It never makes my skin greasy or gives a white cast, so in addition to wearing beautifully under makeup, it is also great on no makeup days as well.

Next to keeping my skin safe from the sun, my primary goal is to achieve that lit-from-within glow. My new favorite is the L’oréal True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer because it does not have any chunks of glitter that will look unnatural in harsh sunlight. The ‘Light’ shade is the perfect rose gold for adding subtle color to foundation-free skin.

Because of the heat, it is safe to say you probably won’t find me wearing a full face of foundation while donning a bikini. Despite my preference for a minimal look, I will often want to spot conceal blemishes and discoloration. Since I am not wearing another base underneath, I recommend using a creamy stick concealer like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer, which melts into the skin seamlessly.

To bring in additional warmth and a sunkissed sheen, the Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer in ’25I – Soft Iridescent Cinnamon’ is my go-to product. Again, this shade is also free of visible shimmer but provides an ideal bronzey glow for medium to tan skin tones like mine. Plus, this waterproof gel formula is guaranteed to last long after you pack up your beach bag.

To look more awake and put together, I rely on the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara, which makes my lashes long, separated, and very black. I reserve the waterproof formula for beach and pool says because it is truly infallible — no running or smearing no matter how much you splash around~

So many of us forget to wear SPF on our lips — an area very susceptible to skin cancer —  but as long as you do not mind splurging, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen makes keeping your lips protected both easy and aesthetic. With SPF 15 and the most buttery and emollient formula ever, the shade ‘Petal’ is a sheer wash of pinky nude.

Whether you want to set your barely-there look or add an additional layer of SPF on top of a full makeup look, the COOLA Makeup Setting Spray SPF 30 will your best friend. This does irritate my eyes a little but it keeps everything in place amidst the summer sun.
