When I sat down at my makeup desk and gathered the courage to publish my very first blog post, I felt excited, nervous, and proud; nearly three years later, I am experiencing those exact same feelings as I launch my very own website — www.makeupbymakena.com! Beauty blogging has changed my life more than I ever thought possible. It has inspired and motivated me to dream bigger and work harder, and has opened the door to so many amazing opportunities that I never could have imagined. I have put so much time and effort into each of my posts, fulfilling the roles of writer, editor, photographer, graphic designer, makeup artist, and so much more, and it has all been worth it. I have so many goals for 2018 and want to try my best to create a blogging schedule that allows me to post two to three times a week because you deserve the very best. My blog has brought me so much happiness and I hope it empowers and inspires you as well. Thank you so much to my incredible parents for beleiving in me enough to invest in my blog and I, and thank you so much for reading and supporting Makeup By Makena. I am forever grateful!
XOXO as always,
Makena

I love this post and I noticed the difference a few days ago right away when I went on your blog! The design looks so good and I’m so excited to see all that you accomplish!! Love always!
Thank you so much, you are honestly the best! I appreciate everything and hope you have an incredible year! By the way, do you have a posting schedule? I couldn’t remember. xoxo
I try to have a Monday Thursday schedule but every December and July I post 5 times a week because there’s always so much I want to write during those months so that’s why it got a little crazy last month! The Monday Thursday thing doesn’t always work out either but I do my best!
I didn’t know that, that’s a great schedule! December is always such an exciting time to post and the summer is the best for blogging. I feel so awful that sometimes I only post once a month, but school and family come first. My goal is three times a week, but two is probably a lot more relaistic lol.
It’s definitely good to keep your priorities on school and family since blogging is a hobby and I find that I write more/better when I don’t put pressure on myself to throw a post together, so it’s good to be lenient with yourself! Yes I love my December and summer thing! The summer always has good light and there’s so many more lifestyle type posts I love writing and same in the winter, but the lighting can get tricky!
