Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours! Today is definitely one of my favorite days out of the entire year because it revolves purely around family and appreciating everything you have been blessed with. I love working hard with my parents and grandparents to help create a meal and I love sitting around the table enjoying it with everyone I am thankful for. Another thing in my life that I am grateful for is makeup, so I took some time out of my day to share today’s look with you!

~FACE~

For my base, I wanted both coverage and luminosity, so I opted for the L’Oreal Infallable Pro-Glow Foundation, which offers the best of both worlds at an affordable price. I highlighted and concealed under my eyes, on my chin, on the center of my forehead, and around my nose with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer. I applied both of these long-lasting products in patting motions with a damp BeautyBlender as usual and after my entire look was complete, I sealed everything in place with the L’Oreal Infallable Makeup Extender Setting Spray

~CHEEKS~

Whenever I think of Thanksgiving or of Autumn in general, I think of warm colors, so to bring added warmth to my skin, I used the luxurious Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base. I dabbed the cream contour underneath my cheekbones and on my temples, and then topped it off with my mini Benefit Hula Matte Bronzer. For blush, I popped on some Bourjois Little Pot Blush in ‘85 Sienne’, a matte rosy-brown shade with a sheer, but blendable formula. To highlight my cheekbones, the inner corner of my eyes, my browbones, the bridge and tip of my nose, and my cupid’s bow, I dusted on my BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in ‘Opal’, a medium champagne shade ideal for a high-impact glow. For an even more soft-focus finish, I blended out all of my cheek products once again to ensure that there were no harsh lines and everything faded together smoothly.

To keep with the warm-toned makeup theme, I used my amazing Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette (review here)! I first used ‘M.F.E.O.’, a pinky beige shade,  as my transition color followed by ‘Pukey’, a warm yellow-brown shade, throughout my crease. On my lower outer corner, I blended out a darker brown color called ‘Buns’. For a metallic lid color, I used patting motions to apply the shades ‘S.B.N.’, a rosy brown, and ‘Meeks’, a beautiful bronze, before adding a touch of glittery dark brown with ’24/7′ to make the outer edge a little more smoky. I filled in my eyebrows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo and coated my lashes with the L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara to finish the eye look.

 ~LIPS~

To compliment the rest of my makeup I used my new travel-sized Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Driver Seat” for the first tim, since I just received it in my November Birchbox. It is a really pretty terra-cotta shade with warm undertones, unlike any color I have ever seen before and a welcome twist on my usual nude! The last thing I wanted to do on Thanksgiving was worry about my lip color staying on the entire evening while I stuffing myself with delicious food and spending time with my family, so I was so impressed by how comfortable and long-lasting this formula was; now I am very interested in trying out more shades and I highly recommend buying this for yourself or a loved one!

I am incredibly grateful to all of you who read my posts and take time out of your lives to visit my blog, so I would like to take this moment to say thank you for  allowing me to do what I love and supporting me along the way! Thank you and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

XOXO,
Makena

  1. Stunning as always Makena!! Your makeup looks so classic, so many gorgeous nude shades that all compliment each other perfectly! This year I went crazy and chose a bright yellow, warm brown, and cranberry eye look for Thanksgiving, very uncharacteristic of me hahah. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
