The ’60s provide endless inspiration when it comes to makeup, and one of my recent purchases — the Natasha Denona Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette — inspired me to create my own modern take on an olive green eye look. I have worn this same makeup look so many times over the past few weeks, and I am absolutely in love with it; it’s different from what I would typically wear or what I typically see on my Instagram feed, but it complements my features so well and is truly timeless.

{FACE}

About 20 minutes after completing my skin care routine, I applied my foundation, and lately I have been loving the Physicians Formula Healthy Foundation because it looks natural and weightless, is very buildable when covering up blemishes, and is neither too matte or too dewy. I highlighted under my eyes and the center of my forehead and chin with the Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer — a wonderful product for concealing discoloration without making dry skin more dry.

{CHEEKS}

To keep the attention on the eyes, I kept the cheeks soft, using my go-to combination of the Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer in ’25I’ all over the perimeter of my face and the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer to contour under my cheekbones. For a subtle nude-pink glow, I used one of my favorite new products: the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in ‘Pillow Talk,’ which also doubles as a highlighter due to the champagne center. For an extra soft and natural effect, I blended everything again in between using each product.

{EYES}

Despite only using three eyeshadow shades, the eyes are the focus of this look, and despite being so small, my new Natasha Denona Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette is definitely the star of the show. With its soft pink undertone and matte finish, ‘Vintage Taupe’ made the most perfect transition shade, and after blending that through the crease and outer corner, I added depth with ”60s,’ a matte olive green-grey, creating a hint of a cut crease. To accentuate my hazel eyes and tie the vintage look together, I brushed ‘Industrial,’ a shimmering green, along my lower lash line. I applied a few coats of my beloved Dior Diorshow Pump N Volume Mascara before elevating the look with the famous Ardell Demi Wispies, which accentuate the cate eye shape without being obnoxious. I filled in my brows with my recently repurchased Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo. I have noticed that this eyeshadow look doesn’t look amazing until the entire look is complete, so trust the process.

{LIPS}

I wanted to imitate the classic nude lip look of the ’60s, but because I own so many neutral lip products, I went the teensiest bit overboard. For a Brigitte Bardot-esque pout, I plumped my lips with the  Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper and then went in with lip liner. I lined my lips with my favorite MAC Lip Pencil in ‘Whirl,’ a neutral rose, and then added more depth to the outer corners and cupid’s bow with the KKW Beauty Nude Lip Liner in ‘2,’ a darker, more brown shade. After applying the Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘Fairgame,’ a warm tan, I added a touch of the Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick in ‘Baddest Beige,’ which is a pale nude with a high-shine finish. For an added pop, I applied the smallest amount of the Milani Keep It Full Nourishing Lip Plumper in ‘Nude Shimmer’ to the center.
