Although I am all for using as many makeup products as possible, lately my makeup routine has become more predictable as I find myself reaching for the same items. Keep reading to find out which products I have been obsessed with as we transition from summer to fall.
The Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation is difficult to describe, but I believe it is a staple in everyone’s makeup collection. It is neither matte nor dewy, sheer nor full coverage; yet, somehow, it just works. It creates the illusion of a real-life filter, wears beautifully under other cream and powder products, and lasts all day.
Applying a cream bronzer is one of my favorite ways to add both warmth and definition to my face, and the Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer in ‘Baked’ meets my high standards; it has a beautiful undertone, blends easily without disturbing the foundation underneath, and stays in place until I am ready to remove my makeup.
If you’ve been here before, then you know I am reluctant to use setting powder, but I finally tried the widely loved Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in ‘Translucent Extra Coverage,’ and it makes my makeup last so much longer than usual! I apply a thin layer to my t-zone with a damp beauty sponge to set my foundation, concealer, and any other liquid or cream products, and it so effective. If I find that my completed look is too matte or powdery, I simply use a face mist to melt everything together.
I have been loving blush lately, which is unusual for me, and I cannot say enough good things about the Milani Baked Blush in ‘Petal Primavera’. I have loved the iconic ‘Luminoso’ shade for years, but I think this new radiant rose shade might just be not only my favorite blush in my collection but one of my favorite products of all time! It adds the perfect amount of color and glow, making it impossible to apply too much. Whenever I have a video conference meeting, I pile this on the apples of my cheek because it makes me look so much for fresh and put together.
A few years ago, I created my own custom eyeshadow quad with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Singles . For some reason, I have neglected this palette, but I have recently been pulling it out more, and I find it so practical — especially for adding definition that is lost over Zoom. The shades are perfect for a neutral everyday look, whether I am going for a barely-there vibe or something more smoky. The shades ‘Glisten’ and ‘Rosé’ are the most stunning shimmery rose golds, ‘Birkin’ is the perfect warm, matte transition shade, and ‘Truffle’ is useful for adding depth to the lashline or outer V.
I have mentioned the Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick in ‘Baddest Beige’ several times here on my blog, but every time I use it, I fall more in love with it. It is a universally flattering warm pinky nude shade with a moisturizing formula and a sheer, high shine finish; it pairs well over any lip liner or lipstick and with any makeup look, which makes it a must have in any makeup bag.
