This 32-page magazine is a guide to my all-time favorite beauty products.

LIKE TO KNOW IT

Welcome back to the second edition of my Shade Series, in which I write about my favorite makeup products of a specific color. A few weeks ago, I wrote about my top peach products, and as you probably guessed from the title, today’s post will be devoted to one of my favorite colors: coral!

CHEEKS

Coral is such a gorgeous way to add a pop of healthy color to the face so wearing it as a blush is perfect for everyday use! The Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in “Streak” (review here) contains a beautiful matte bright coral blush that is so pigmented and blendable. Another true coral blush that I have loved for a long time is the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in “Candy Coral,” which is a really fun and unique squishy cream product that gives a sheer wash of color, perfect for a “no-makeup” makeup look. Lastly, I love the Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush in “Coral” because it is has a pretty shimmer and glow that allows you to concentrate on different areas for a more customizable effect. It is also similar to my cherished Too Faced “I Will Always Love You” Love Flush Blush, which is a great little tip! These blushes are all incredibly lovely and work on the fairest to the deepest skin tones.

EYES

I know that many people do not feel comfortable wearing coral eyeshadow, and although I am definitely a neutral girl, I do enjoy tossing some coraly shades on my eyes every once in a while. The NARS Duo Eyeshadow in “St-Paul-de-Vence” contains a light shimmery coraly color on the left. My go-to eyeshadow look is a shimmery champagne shade all over the lid and a warm matte beige in the crease, but when I am feeling more adventurous, I throw some of this coral shade just above the outer crease for a pop of color. Doing something like this is a really helpful tip for those of you who have hooded eyes like myself because it really shows up in photos and looks pretty, but still wearable! I promise, but if you don’t believe me, you can check out my About page, because I used this trick when I did my makeup for all my photo shoots!

LIPS

Gloss coral lips are just so pretty and underrated! The Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in “Cantaloupe Cream” has the most amazing moisturizing and glossy formula and it smells like vanilla! It looks really orange in my swatches below, but I love to layer it over nude lipsticks for the perfect shade! One of my holy grail lipsticks that I have counted on for years is the L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Balm in “Caring Coral” because it is sheer but buildable with a moisturizing and long-lasting finish. I love this for beach days and for school because it looks effortless yet so beautiful! It is the perfect color and I cannot encourage you to try it out enough!

I have loved each of these products for quite a while and always enjoy popping some coral into my makeup routine, especially in the summer! Thank you so much for reading and make sure to come back soon for the next volume in my Shade Series!

Makena
