If you’ve used any social media platforms this month, then you’ve probably noticed that everyone is talking about two new complexion products: the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation and the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation.
Although I already own far too many foundations, I couldn’t resist purchasing them both and putting them to the test for you.
+ dewy finish
+ light but buildable coverage
+ a more thick consistency that works best with multiple, thin layers
+ offers a true glow, making my skin look more hydrated and youthful
+ lit-from-within, skin-like finish
+ light-to-medium, buildable coverage
+ a more liquidy consistency
+ blurs and smooths the appearance of pores, texture and other imperfections
Overview
Based on first impressions, I absolutely love both of these foundations.
They are perfect for a natural and glowy ‘my skin but better’ look and feel very lightweight. I used a more dense buffing brush to apply these and then blended them out and added additional product where needed with a damp beauty sponge. They blend and layer beautifully and work well with the rest of my makeup. I wore each for over 8 hour and although they looked a little too shiny at the end of they day, I didn’t experience any issues.
If I absolutely had to choose one, I prefer the NARS foundation for now because it does a better job of minimizing the appearance of my breakouts. If I had more clear, even skin, I think I might prefer the Charlotte Tilbury one. I would recommend both for normal to dry skin types.
