Hello, World!

I am Makena, a 17-year-old girl who happens to be enchanted by the world of makeup! I love the feeling I get each morning when I am doing my makeup and I love how it has such a powerfully positive impact on the way it makes individuals of all ages feel. Although I am not a professional makeup artist, I consider makeup to be my hobby and I plan to pursue makeup as my passion throughout my entire life.

I decided to start my own blog in March of 2015 when I decided that it only seemed natural to combine my life-long passions of writing, education, and makeup, and I have never been happier. I created Makeup By Makena as a space where all different types of people can come together and empower each other to feel beautiful, confident, and inspired!
