If any of you read my Paris Sephora Haul, then you know that I ended up purchasing the Chanel “Soleil Tan de Chanel” Bronzing Makeup Base for $48. Normally, I would never ever in a million years spend this much money on a bronzer, but I realized that I probably wouldn’t have the opportunity to go back to Paris for a long time and if I was ever going to splurge on a Chanel product, Paris would be the perfect place to do it! I know that a lot of people love this cream bronzer and all of them say that it is worth the money because it lasts forever before you use it all up! Anyway, sometimes you just gotta spoil yourself:)

First of all, packaging wise, Chanel just wins! This bronzer comes in a pretty jar with a twist-on lid that has the prettiest gold logo ever! Because of this reason, I like to display mine on my vanity!

Even though I’ve only used it a few times, I already love this bronzer so much! I have never used a cream bronzer before, so I was surprised at how easy this one is to use. You can put it all over the places where the sun would naturally hit your face for an all-over bronzed glow, or go for a more dramatic look by brushing it under your cheekbones for a very defined contour. I always put this on top of my foundation, like I normally would, but you can also put it on underneath your foundation. It looks so natural when you put it on your skin! Instead of looking like you actually put on bronzer, it looks like you have been laying by a pool in Hawaii with a bunch of glowing Victoria’s Secret Angels! Even though this only comes in one color, it would look beautiful on pretty much all skin tones because of how buildable it is. It is not orangey at all. Instead, it just looks very natural and sun-kissed. I can’t wait until summer so I can use it even more!

Even though this seems really expensive, it is worth the money because if you do the math it is actually less expensive than other drugstore options. For example, the Sonia Kashuk “Undetectable Creme Bronzer” costs $10.99 for 0.18 ounces while this costs $48 for 1.0 ounce. In order to get one full ounce of bronzer from Sonia Kashuk, you would have to buy more than 5 bronzers, which would end up costing around $65, which is more expensive than just buying one Chanel one.

I would love to know what all of you think about the Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer, so please leave a comment below!

XOXO,

Makena

It is a cream bronzer that adds overall warmth to the skin and blends like a dream. This is long-lasting and great for all skin types, perfect for summer, winter, and everything in between. What really makes this worth the steep price tag is the amount of product you get – I am not exaggerating when I say that it will probably last a lifetime! Plus, Chanel’s signature classy packaging will look beautiful on your vanity.  For more information, check out my full review here. […]
