Beauty Book

This 32-page magazine is a guide to my all-time favorite beauty products.

LIKE TO KNOW IT

Discovering new favorites and more affordable alternatives never fails to bring a smile to my face, but no matter how creative I am with my makeup, I always fall into a routine and find myself reaching for the same assortment of trustworthy beauty products; today, I’m writing a little more about the makeup I’ve been loving lately. Unfortunately, I was so preoccupied with college last semester that I completely skipped my monthly favorite posts from January through April, so please accept my apology and consider this my replacement.

Anyone with dry, dehydrated skin knows how difficult it can be to attain dewy skin, but the Farsáli Rose Gold Elixir 24k Gold Infused Beauty Oil , which can be applied to bare skin before foundation or mixed in with the foundation itself, makes doing so easy. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated without becoming greasy or diminishing coverage.

For special occasions when I want flawless, full coverage with a luminous finish, I always reach for the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. It is the absolute best for dry skin and I feel extra confident when I wear it.

On a day-to-day basis, I have been loving the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation which I picked up at my local drugstore after reading so many amazing reviews. It offers a solid medium coverage with a satiny matte finish that lasts well past my long school or work days.

My Tarte Creaseless Under Eye Concealer is my go-to for concealing dark circles, brightening my under-eyes, and adding a touch of luminosity. With a thick consistency and full coverage, it performs best when blended out with fingertips.

The Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer has been a standout product in my daily routine; it blends effortlessly and adds the most beautiful bronze color to the cheeks. Plus, it smells like a tropical vacation.

It was love at first sight with the NARS Exposed Cheek Palette and I have been wearing all five blushes regularly, as the unique formula provides the loveliest sheen. The golden-champagne highlighter looks stunning and sophisticated on the high points of the face.

Not only eye-catching but also high quality, the Huda Beauty New Nudes Eyeshadow Palette has been a staple in my collection. The mauve and rose gold color story never fails to create an exquisite look, whether it is all matte or replete with glitter.

For long, luscious lashes, I swear by the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara . It is both affordable and luxurious, and definitely one of the best on the market.

The quintessential pinky nude, the Milani Color Statement Lipstick in ‘Nude Creme’ has been one of my favorite lipsticks over the past few months. It is buttery, moisturizing, and works well with almost any makeup look.

I picked up the Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray several months ago at Urban Outfitters after I ran out of my usual Mario Badescu one and think this is a wonderful alternative. In addition to hydrating bare skin in the morning and at night, it provides a slight sheen post-makeup.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on any of the products I mentioned and I’d also enjoy any of your recommendations. Have a great day!

XOXO,
Makena

  1. Great picks! I love my Butter Bronzer and the L’Oreal Original Voluminous mascara is on my lashes today (still need to try Lash Paradise!). The NARS radiant foundation is also on my wish list this year.

    • Thanks so much for reading! Butter bronzer has been my most used bronzer ever since I bought it – such good quality! L’Oreal voluminous us is also wonderful. I used to use it all the time. If you have any questions about the NARS foundation, feel free to let me know; I have a whole review on my blog about it! xoxo
