To be honest, blush has never been one of favorite makeup products and it is even a skip I often step when getting ready. However, once I am immersed in the Winter season, I gradually start incorporating subtle hues back into my routine in order to add a feminine flush back to my cheeks. Here are a few of my top recommendations…
MAC Powder Blush in ‘Blushbaby’
With its perfectly versatile hue, this matte dusty mauve shade is definitely one of my most used blushes this time of year. It has a smooth, blendable finish and a sheer yet very buildable formula, making it great for those of you who do not want anything overpowering. I love that this is neutral enough to match every one of my makeup looks, while still adding something special, as well.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in ‘Embellish‘
If you are looking for a more bold, flushed look, then look no further than this unique wintery pop of color. This blush is definitely a one of a kind in my makeup collection and although it was a limited edition holiday product, its deep rosy plum shade with finely milled golden shimmer is very similar to ‘Blushing Bride’ and ‘Dazzled’ from the same line. These blushes are so high quality and because of their excellent pigmentation, a little goes a long way.
LAQA & Co. B’Lighter Blush + Highlighter in ‘Peacher’s Daughter’
Before receiving this two-in-one cream blush and highlighter in my November Birchbox, I had never heard of this brand, but as soon as I swatched it, I knew I had to feature it in an upcoming post. Although gilded peachy shades usually conjure images of summer in my mind, this product has an intense silvery pink sheen that is not only suitable for all skin tones, but also all seasons. Its nourishing formula can be patted onto the cheeks for a rich pop of peach or blended along the tops of the cheekbones for a lovely and luminous glow.
What blushes have you been loving lately?
XOXO,
Makena
