Ever since trying it for the first time, the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Eyeshadow Palette (review and swatches here) has been the most inspiring part of my makeup routine, pushing me outside of my comfort zone to create an array of looks. Today, I will be teaching you step-by-step how to create three completely different eyeshadow looks with this one amazing palette, perfect for transitioning from summer to autumn!

Look #1 | Neutral Shimmer with a Pop of Purple

JaclynHillMorphePaletteNeutralPopPurpleEyeshadow.jpg.pngThis is my favorite of the three looks because it is extremely wearable with an effortless twist, extra flattering on all different eye shapes because of the subtle cut-crease structure, and — unlike most looks with this very warm palette — it is more cool-toned. Before beginning, I recommend applying a strip of tape from the end of the lower lashline up towards the tail of the brow for a clean, straight edge. First, I am using “M.F.E.O. as a transition shade, then repeating the same windshield wiper and circular motions more precisely through my crease and outer corner with “Pooter”. Next, I am taking “Buns” on a smaller fluffy brush on my outer v and my lashline; so far, all of these shades are mattes with neutral undertones, each slightly darker than the previous one. For the star of the show, I am applying “Obsessed” on the inner 2/3 of my lid with a damp flat brush, carving out under my crease. I am then combining the shades “S.B.N.” and “Hustle”, patting them onto the outer 1/3 of the lid, staying under the crease like before. Next, I am dusting “Soda Pop,” a deep plum shade, on the very outer edge and re-defining my muted cut crease with “Buns”. Lastly, I am lining my lower lashline with “Royalty” for a shimmery pop of purple and for the finishing touches, I created a little cat eye liner.

Look #2 | Metallic Sunset Eye

MorpheJaclynHillPaletteSunsetEyeshadow.jpg.pngThis eye makeup is perfect for summer, because the gradient variation of the different warm-toned shimmers truly looks like a sunset; it is almost a combination of the first and third eyeshadow look because it is colorful without being too bold! For my transition shade, I am blending “Silk Creme” through my crease and then repeating this same process with “Hunts” and a touch of “Creamsicle” to help accentuate the warm, orange and yellow tones of the evening sky. For the metallic pink ombré, I am applying “Faint” (a pale pink shade) in the inner corner, “Little Lady” (a medium rosy-copper) on the inner 1/3 of the lid, and “Sissy” (a medium bright pink shade with gold reflects) directly in the center of the lid. On the on the outer corner, I mixed together “Cranapple” with the slightest touch of “Royalty” to create the perfect deep cranberry, plum color, blending them out in a soft rounded motion towards the crease. Even though these last five shades are all very pigmented and shimmery, I applied them with a damp brush to make them even more metallic and intense.

Look #3 | Smokey Cranberry Halo Eye

MorpheJaclynHillPaletteSmokeyCranberryHaloEyeshadow.jpg.pngFor those of you who prefer something more smokey, I created this stunning cranberry look, which is composed of mostly matte shadows plus a pop of shimmer in the center of the lid, making it the perfect halo eye to help you transition into Autumn! First, I blended “Silk Creme” and then “Butter” throughout my entire eyelid and crease, focusing equally on both the inner and outer corners. For a more orangey base, I dusted a thin layer of “Roxanne” all over the lid and up through the crease and outer corner. Then, for the main attraction, I packed “Jacz”, a dark, brick red shade with burgundy undertones, all over the lid blending whatever was leftover on my brush slightly above the crease, angling the shadow upwards and outwards on the outer corner. Although I did not use tape for this look, I still want a noticeably lifted edge, just something more soft. To make everything appear very blown out, I once again blended out my crease with “Butter” and a hint of “Roxanne,” also applying these shades to my lower lashline. Now that we are done with all of the matte shadows, I am going to create the halo eye by applying “Hillster” throughout the middle of the lid and then dabbing “Firework” right in the center, making sure to avoid the inner and outer corners, as well as the crease.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you try out one of these summer-to-autumn eyeshadow looks! What is your favorite palette at the moment?

XOXO,
Makena
