Bronzer is one of my favorite types of makeup products because I love how much of a difference it makes in the appearance of my skin and in my overall makeup look. Since purchasing it last summer, the Makeup Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer, which can be purchased at Sephora for $36, has been my favorite bronzer for this time of year for many different reasons…
~Packaging & Shade Range~
This bronzer — which contains 0.38 ounces of product — comes in a sleek, sturdy black and bronze compact with a mirror. The powder itself features a beautifully luxurious three-dimensional wave pattern. It is available in six shades, three of which are matte and three of which are iridescent. I own the shade ’25I – Soft Iridescent Cinnamon’, which is a warm bronze color with a soft, radiant finish ideal for medium-tan skin tones.
~Formula & Quality~
Although many brands make claims that their products fail to live up to, Make Up For Ever describes Pro Bronze Fusion as “a gel-power bronzer that blends seamlessly for a lightweight, foolproof, luminous glow”, and I couldn’t agree more with these accurate words. Unlike typical powders, this one has no kickback or fallout regardless of how hard you press your brush into the pan. Because of this, it performs almost like a cream bronzer, easily blending out and becoming one with the skin. If you are someone who prefers intensely pigmented bronzers, then you might find this sheer yet buildable formula disappointing, but if you appreciate a truly natural and skin-like effect for a subtle sunkissed radiance, then I think you will love this. It is especially suitable for beginners or individuals with fair skin because you never have to worry about it being patchy, muddy, or overly dramatic. My favorite thing about this bronzer is the stunning sheen; even though it contains absolutely no shimmer, it provides a noticeable glow to the cheeks, creating a healthy summer complexion. Another great feature of this bronzer is that it is waterproof, making it wonderful to wear to the pool or beach due to its long-lasting formula.
One of the best features of this bronzer is that it is extremely buildable and because it requires several layers to achieve an intense effect, it is essentially impossible to apply too much. Unlike with many of the others in my collection, it is essentially impossible to apply too much of this bronzer, which I really appreciate. Because of its sheer, gel formula, I have found that this specific bronzer works best when applied with a more dense synthetic brush; if you try using a fluffier natural hair brush, you will not get enough color payoff. Make Up For Ever also recommends swirling your brush in a figure “8” motion because going against the embossed pattern will pick up more product.
What are your thoughts on this product and what is your go-to bronzer for a believable Summer glow?
