As someone who prefers a glossy and hydrated pout, I have never understood the obsession with liquid lipsticks… until I tried the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade ‘Bombshell’. This product can be purchased at Sephora or from the Huda Beauty website for $20.
This product is available in 25 different shades, and I really appreciate that all of them were created to be flattering for all skin tones. The shade that I ended up purchasing is ‘Bombshell’, which is described as a ‘subtle pinkish nude’. This medium, peachy-pink nude with warm, terra-cotta undertones is my ideal everyday neutral because it enhances my skin tone and complements so many of my makeup looks.
With a frosted matte glass tube and velvety soft doe-foot applicator, the packaging of this lip product looks and feels very luxurious. What’s inside matters the most, but this does come in a very cute box displaying Huda’s lips. This has a delicious true vanilla scent, which is quite strong at first, but fades the more it dries.
~Formula & Quality~
As for the formula, this liquid lipstick initially has a surprisingly wet and thin consistency, making it very easy to apply in a controlled manner without having to worry about making any mistakes. With only one swipe, the amount of pigmentation is so intense and beautiful, which makes me believe that I will be able to use this product over and over again before I ever have to think about running out. Unlike other lip products, I never feel the need keep dipping the applicator back into the tube or to apply more than one layer in order to achieve a full coverage effect. Although this formula dries down to a completely matte finish within about 30 seconds, it does feel a little tacky afterwards. I know a lot of people may not like this slightly sticky feeling, but I do not mind it because it prevents it from cracking or emphasising any dryness on the lips. It is almost completely transfer-proof and is extremely long-lasting. I can wear this for over four hours of talking, eating, and drinking without any fading, which I think is very impressiv e. When it does fade later in the day, it does so evenly, avoiding a ring of color along the edge of the mouth or a build-up in the center. Overall, this incredible, high quality formula feels comfortable and truly light-weight rather than overly drying.
I have never enjoyed using a traditional liquid lipstick before, so the fact that I love this one so much really speaks to the quality of the formula and the brand. If you have some money to spend and are looking for a product that offers color payoff and longevity without drying your lips out, then look no further than this Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick.
